        Thanksgiving

        By Adela Turlington

There are many holidays celebrated around the world. Different countries celebrate different holidays based on religions, history, beliefs, etc. and it is called Thanksgiving. In the United States there is a special holiday we celebrate in November. During this thanksgiving I give thanks to my family, food, and a home.

My family is probably the thing for which I am most thankful for. They are caring and always there for me. I love my mom and dad but don’t forget my dog; I love her too.  My family protects me every minute of every day. I love my family and will always be there for them like they are for me.

The second thing I’m thankful for is FOOD! Yes, you heard me right, food. Food is very important because you would die without it. It’s fun to have burgers and pizzas or ice cream, but healthy stuff is good. My favorite foods are calamari, ice cream, bread, cheese, clam chowder, and more. That’s why food is the second thing I’m thankful for.

The third thing I’m thankful for is a house or home. My home is important because it gives me shelter and protection. My house gives me everything I need; a bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, living room, and a room. Without that we would not be living how we are today. That’s why the house or home is my third thing I’m thankful for.

Family, food, and a home, are the things I’m thankful for this Thanksgiving. I’m thankful for my family because they are protective and loving. I’m thankful for food because, well, it’s food, do I need to explain it? And, I’m thankful for a house because it gives me protection and everything I need. In fact, I’m going to go eat some food right now.
